Thanks to Bay Cities Construction, you can view the progress of the SR 132 West project from the crews' point of view!
The City of Modesto and project team want to thank all of you, our community, for your patience during construction work. This video is to showcase the work you've been seeing progress for the past several months!
May 2020

At the end of April into May, Crews began pile driving on Rosemore Avenue, ahead of schedule! To help reduce noise, crews used a Hydraulic Pile Driver. For more information on the pile driving work throughout the project, please see the messaging above.
For now, watch the video to the left and see how a hydraulic pile driver works up close!
Crews have been hard at work this month! The first photo in the gallery to the left shows crews pouring a concrete bridge column. The second photo shows the finished subgrade and the shoulder of the new alignment.
The second two photos are from May 20, 2020, and show the placement of the first Cast-In-Drilled hole pile. The contractor is placing reinforcing steel cage and performing reinforcing splicing using steel couplers. The entire operation took about 15 hours to complete.
Finally, see what these concrete columns look like that will support the bridge over Highway 99!

During the COVID-19 'Stay-at-Home' order, construction is exempt. Crews will continue working through April 2020 to keep on schedule, unless otherwise noted. The project team and City of Modesto thanks our neighbors for your patience during this work.

Construction for Phase I of the State Route 132 West project has kicked off ahead of schedule, and is moving full-steam ahead! In December 2019, crews began the excavation of 40,000 cubic yards of dirt from the construction site, south of Kansas Avenue. This process is called ‘clearing and grubbing’ in the construction world. In this project’s case, the 40,000 CY of dirt that is being removed, is being recycled to the State Route 120 Union Road Interchange Improvement Project.
Crews have also been hard at work relocating the utilities, a process that starts with drilling then the installation of a conduit for the utilities.
